BLACK TO MY ROOTS by Kathya Alexander and Reneschia Brown
BLACK TO MY ROOTS is a contemporary play that explores the collective relationship between Afro-America and hair.
Doesn't matter whether it's happily nappy, kinky-curly, or silky straight. Black America has had an unique relationship with hair. Here we share some of the stories behind black hair...tales of love and laughter, tales of pride and pain...and ultimately tales of acceptance.
This original BROWNBOX Theatre production won a Fringe First Award at the 2002 Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland. "A brilliantly good humored and energetic journey into the experience of Black America...It's delivered with as much life-affirming energy and joy as any show in Edinburgh this year." - The Scotsman Newspaper
