Evening @ the Barn: Special Anniversary Program!
Since 1980 Hollywood Heritage has worked to preserve and protect the historic built environment of our community by actively interacting with city, state and federal agencies and by educating the public through the continued operation of the Hollywood Heritage Museum in the Lasky DeMille Barn and by sponsoring and presenting programs on historical topics regarding preservation and film history.
This year we are celebrating 35 years as a preservation organization and 30 years as stewards of the museum. In honor of both milestones, two of the founders, Christy McAvoy and Fran Offenhauser, will host a special slide presentation which encapsulates the past, present and future of Hollywood Heritage. The program will feature historic photos, maps and other artwork from our expansive archives.
We will also be unveiling a stunning bust of Jesse Lasky, which will become a permanent fixture in our main gallery. Jesse's daughter Betty Lasky will be joining us as we welcome this new acquisition to our collection. The bust will be donated by our friend and colleague, Donelle Dadigan, President of the Hollywood Museum, which is located just down the street from us on Highland Avenue. We hope you'll join us for this engaging stroll down memory lane. As always we'll have our famous $1 raffle, refreshments on our new back deck and much more!
