A Christmas Carol - The District Theatre
Based on Charles Dickens' classic, A CHRISTMAS CAROL tells the tale of curmudgeonly miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by the ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future hoping to change his destiny and save his soul. This new musical with an original adaptation with a new book by Tristan Layne Tapscott and new music and lyrics by Danny White, follows an older man writing down his memories of an older gentleman he once knew. As we hear his stories we travel back in time where we meet Scrooge through a series of strange and magical journeys and colorful characters, where he ultimately discovers the true spirit of the holiday season.
The musical debuted in the 2012 season and was a runaway hit then and in 2013. "We were blown away by the response during both seasons," Danny White said. He added, "It was an incredible project to work on and worth all the time and effort we put into it." "We knew we wanted to create something of our own, something we could be proud of and say, 'ok, we can do this.' It's heart warming to know it's still working year and year," Tristan Tapscott said. He added, 'We've done more than: we have created a tradition," Tristan Tapscott said. White added, "It's a beautiful feeling to know your music can touch so many people this time of the year!"
