New York State Healthcare Reform Initiative Update: DSRIP
DSRIP is the main mechanism by which New York State will implement the Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) Waiver Amendment. DSRIPs purpose is to fundamentally restructure the health care delivery system by reinvesting in the Medicaid program, with the primary goal of reducing avoidable hospital use by 25% over 5 years. Up to $6.42 billion dollars are allocated to this program with payouts based upon achieving predefined results in system transformation, clinical management and population health.
While the DSRIP program is well underway and Performing Provider Systems (PPSs) are making great strides with system transformation there is still a vast amount of work that must be completed. Such work includes:
How RHIOs will share critical information amongst PPSs? How data will be protected between key stakeholders with the development of System Security Plans? Utilizing NYS developed technologies to support NYS system transformation. The development of Target Operating Models to support integration between MCOs and CBOs Greg Allen, NYS Medicaid Policy Director, will provide the session participants with an update on the DSRIP program since his last NYS HIMSS update presented on June 17, 2015.
Please make every effort to attend this important session and learn about some of the most recent DSRIP initiatives.
