Twelfth Night
Twelfth Night is one of the greatest plays ever written. It treads gorgeously the delicate tightrope between comic absurdity and semi-tragic pathos. It is, by definition, a comedy since it ends in a marriage (well, three), but it does leave behind a couple of bitter pills at the end. The play marvellously explores issues of gender identity, lifestyle choices, social interaction and responsibility, anarchy and order, and a myriad of other tangential items, while at the same time telling a rip-roaring yarn of shipwrecks, lost twins and a great inheritance. Above all, it explores deep romantic connections and missed connections, and probes tellingly into the pathology of "being in love."
Please note:
The performance for Twelfth Night at the Guild Hall for Nov 27th and 28th have been cancelled as per follows:
The Guild would like to take this time to celebrate an amazing opportunity for one of the show's leads - Sarah Ott. This incredibly talented youth is one of three finalists in the running to receive the very prestigious Loran Scholars Foundation scholarship. Ott will be traveling to Vancouver for two nights of the run for the interview, and she goes with The Guild's unanimous support! Fostering the next generation of theatre artists is at the very core of what The Guild is about, and we applaud Sarah for being such an exceptionally talented and dedicated young Yukon artist.
Thank you for your understanding and patience!
