Where The #*c% Are We And Why Does It Matter? A Workshop for Intermediate & Advanced Improvisers with Misch Whitaker
Saturday, Dec. 12, 2:00-5:00m (3 hours) 104 Russell St. (Rt. 9 at West Street)/Downstairs, Hadley Class fee: $40 (plus you receive $6 OFF that night's Happier Valley Comedy Show ticket) Limited amount of student discounts available (email Pam for details)
* The Pre-requisite for this workshop is at least one ADVANCED Zen of Improv. This workshop is appropriate for anyone in the uppermost levels of the Zen of Improv or another comedy school as well as those with more than one year of improv performance experience. (Email info@happiervalley.com if you have a question whether this workshop is a good fit for you.)
Maybe you're more than comfortable improvising scenes on stage it's just that sometimes your mind and your mouth are just so darn clever they leave your body behind. This workshop is for you! Learn how to stay rooted in your body and your surroundings so your playscapes become more real for you, your scene partner, and your audience. Practice your object work, and add finesse and polish to otherwise barren stage pictures. Explore how and when to best engage with your unseen world so that your surroundings serve your improv rather than the other way around. Using exercises in body awareness, object work, and open scene work you'll leave this workshop with a heightened appreciation of how creating a rich environment on stage can enhance your scene work and take your improv to new levels.
