Well some of you may have heard the rumor in these parts. 'Tis true. California snow and rain notwithstanding we hope that you can join us beneath the trees, beneath the stars at Area 51st for an intimate, kid friendly, secret 2-set dinner performance in support of the band's new 3-EP recording project. Just walk towards the sound if you're hearing it call or get in or on your well-oiled machine. Don't worry a bit, and don't get pulled over and busted in Portland (Utah) on the way, we need that music to fill us.
The earth, the wind, the fire and the water will align this night, and we can enjoy the fruit of the vine, some blackberry pie, or some honky-tonk tequila and maybe act like the French. So grab your Summertime Gal, or your Honey Be, and lets do this! Live your love, love your life, come dance with the folks who let in the light.

As many may know the band has a new fiddler which they took a lot of time and care in choosing. "He's a seriously high-octane fiddler who roots our bluegrass tunes and can lead our jams into the stratosphere"
We are excited to announce that the band will be recording three 5-song EPs this Summer & Fall. We're going to release each one as a separate download, and together on one disc at the end. Each EP has a narrow focus, and a different producer. All three EPs will be recorded at our favorite studio, Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco, CA.
We are looking to go deeper into some of the things that make the band: soulful heartfelt songs, old school bluegrass, and late-night craziness. We want to come out the other side transformed and invigorated, with deeper roots and higher branches.
The first EP is a collection of soulful, earthy acoustic songs, produced by Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth. Tim is an old friend and one of our favorite players out there today. We're fired up to work with him in the studio. Tentative release date for this EP is November 2015.
The second EP will be songs from bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley and will be produced by Sally Van Meter. Sally's bluegrass resume includes working with the likes of Yonder Mountain String Band, Leftover Salmon, Laurie Lewis, and many others. We look forward to digging deep into the music of the Stanleys, there's a lot to learn there. Tentative release date for this EP is scheduled for Jan 2016.
The third EP will be our late-night dance music, and produced by Kyle Hollingsworth of String Cheese Incident. We couldn't think of anyone better than Kyle to help us channel the late-night funky Butter! Tentative release date for this EP is March 2016.
We're quite excited to say the least.
As you can imagine, taking on a project of this scale requires a lot of resources and we're asking our community to join us and support our journey.
When we perform we feed off of the energy and support of the people we love, I think anyone who's been to a show has felt this. For the first time we are asking for the energy and support of our community in the studio as we record our most ambitious project to date.
