Some visual "before/after" examples with be given and there will be a Q/A at the end.
Primarily lecture, but those who attend will be able to touch and see up close what is happening. You will actually feel what happens to the leather. - - - - - BIO MrBlu has been shining boots ever since he joined the US Army in 2004, where he served 6 years as an infantryman. 3 years active duty with the 3rd Infantry Division, with which he was deployed to Iraq, and 3 years as a team leader in the 184th Infantry Regiment in the National Guard. Uniform inspections were a daily routine. Even while deployed in theater. As a result, the condition of not only his uniform, but also the condition of his soldier's uniforms, had to be up to standard. Many times, exceeding the standard as a means of always working towards bettering ourselves.
When he entered the scene in 2010, he had no idea bootblacking was such a big aspect of the community. Then he went to Folsom Fringe and saw all the leather that people were wearing and how well people cared for it. It was at that point he decided to find a way to contribute his military training and experience to the community.
He became the resident bootblack at the South Bay Cigar & Boots Social at Renegades over 1 year ago and continue to share his skills to the community as such. He has bootblacked at North West Leather Celebration and most recently at Folsom Fringe 2015. It has been a wonderful experience sharing his skills with the community, as he has made some great friends and helped aspiring bootblacks learn more about bootblacking. - - - - - $15 for SBS Members and reciprocal organizations - $20 for general admission.
