Geology student maps Kitsap's waterfalls
Please join student and geyser researcher, Micah Kipple, for an informative talk about and a peek at Kitsap's many waterfalls. Learn about the numerous waterfalls he's discovered during a project to map all of Kitsap County's waterfalls that are over 10 feet high. During the session, you can also contribute to his study if you know of any waterfalls that are on a permanent stream and fall over bedrock.
During his summers, Micah can be found working with the Geyser Observation and Study association, collecting and disseminating information about hydrothermal features in Yellowstone National Park. When he's not "geyser gazing", he's made it his personal mission to survey, map, and photograph every major waterfall in Kitsap County over 10 feet in height. As of October 2015, he's mapped 17 waterfalls with a total combined height of almost 500 feet (all on permanent streams, falling over bedrock).
