When we think of social creatures, we rarely imagine something smaller than a fingernail. However, some of the smallest creatures actually have intricate social dynamics. Dr. Pinter-Wollman will explain how the collective behavior of an ant colony emerges from the social interactions among the individuals that comprise it. Includes a discussion of Next Generation Science Standards connections and classroom activity ideas.
