A Child Was Born
An evening of Christmas Carols in aid of Child Rescue Nepal performed by the Canticum chamber choir, directed by Mark Forkgen
Child Rescue Nepal (formerly The Esther Benjamins Trust)
Child Rescue Nepal rescues, cares for and educates trafficked Nepali children who are sold for child labour. We save them from a life of physical abuse and forced labour, bring them home, provide medical and psychological treatment and try to re-unite them with their families. We aim to stamp out the trafficking of children by carrying out anti-trafficking work, such as community education, pursuing the prosecution of traffickers, and improving schools. Learn more about us at www.ebtrust.org.uk or contact info@ebtrust.org.uk. Canticum Canticum is one of the most musically versatile chamber choirs in the country. Now in its 26th season, it has been praised for accomplished performances of major works and for exploring contemporary repertoire. The choir has also commissioned new writing and gives regular first performances. Last season's highlights included performances of Poulenc's Figure Humaine and a new work by Hywel Davies with Kokoro at the Cheltenham Music Festival, and Elijah with the London Concert Choir at the Barbican. This season will see the choir perform as the semi-chorus in Vaughan Williams's A Sea Symphony at the Barbican, and a programme including Poulenc's Figure Humaine at Kings Place,
