Uncle Bonsai: Live in Santa Cruz
The popular Seattle trio, Uncle Bonsai, comes to Santa Cruz for one night at Kuumbwa Jazz.
Uncle Bonsai performs original, contemporary folk/pop music. With their soaring and intricate 3-part vocal harmonies and biting humor, accompanied by only an acoustic guitar, the trio delivers poignantly unflinching portrayals of life, love, and a guy named Doug. Bonsai songs focus on the passing of time, the passing of genes, and the passing of pets -- the truth of everything seemingly buried somewhere under the family tree.
The group has recently released its 9th CD, "The Grim Parade," and is excited to be returning to the area after their appearance in Felton this past December, as part of the Just One Angel tour w/Christine Lavin.
