Two Rooms
Theatre UNO is proud to present Agnes of God by John Pielmeir and Two Rooms by Lee Blessing. Running in repertory in the Lab Theatre, these two shows question the truth of human connection in moments of strained reality and the presence of quiet hope in dark places. Agnes of God tells the story of a psychiatrist's struggle to analyze and help a young nun accused of murdering her newborn baby with no recollection of such an event transpiring. A psychological war ensues between the well-intentioned psychiatrist and the domineering Mother Superior over Agnes' mental health, allowing the play to explore the contrasts of science and religion, facts and faith. Two Rooms follows Michael and Lanie, the former a desperate prisoner in Beirut and the latter trying everything she can to stay connected to her husband from America. Joined by an interfering journalist and a U.S. Government representative, these four characters try the best they can to cope with a situation where the answers are completely overshadowed by the questions.
Performances will take place in the Lab Theatre in the UNO Performing Arts Center, and will run Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, November 5th through November 21th at 7:30pm, and Sundays, November 8th, 15th, and 22nd at 2:30pm.
Two Rooms is directed by Erick Wolfe and features Nathan Anderson, Tiffany Anderson, Arielle B. Brown, and Zachary J. Olinger. This production showcases the work of Kevin Griffith (Set Design), Diane Baas (Sound and Lighting Design), Anthony French (Costume Design), and Milan Holman (Stage Manager).
