Shock a Sudamérica - Open Role Tango Ball & Bachelor Auction
The New York Shock Exchange is going to South America!
At the 2014 Men's World Cup, Argentina showed the world that Men's Roller Derby is alive and kicking in South America. And just as with the UK and Australia, the New York Shock Exchange wants head down to South America to bring this new world of skaters into the MRDA.
To celebrate and raise funds for our trip, come to our Open Role Tango Ball at Don Pedro bar in Brooklyn! At this event, the focus is on elegance. Leave you compression pants with your skates and come looking sharp in your dancing shoes. Whether you're in vest and jacket or that strappy red dress you've been waiting show off, come ready to lead, follow, or both! In the roller derby world, we know the fellas aren't the only strong leaders on the track, and the same is true for the dance floor.
The evening will open up with Don Pedro's generous drink specials from 8-9pm. At nine o'clock, we'll proceed to the Bachelor Auction, where the Shock Exchange will open its stable of unattached men to the highest bidders. Dates secured for the night, the floor will again be opened up for carousing, and for strutting one's stuff with your dance partner of yearsor perhaps for just the night...
A horde of raffle prizes will also be available, along with new Shock Exchange merchandise, all proceeds going to help support the Shock Exchange and their mission to bring the MRDA to new shores. Tickets are $10 online (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2461168), and $15 at the door.
Want to support the Shock Exchange, but can't make it out? No worries! You can donate directly to our Paypal account through the link on this page. Minimum donation is $10.
As always, the New York Shock Exchange would like to thank our sponsors Wet Lubricants, Bozzo Family Vineyards, Five Stride Skate Shop, and our beloved Don Pedro.
