Dos Canosos

Dos Canosos (Gary Wittner and Raul Freyre) have been playing Latin music together throughout New England for 8 years. As a duo (or trio with percussionist), they have been featured at the Waterville Opera House, The Old Port Festival, The Fiddlehead Arts Festival, The Chocolate Church, and numerous clubs and schools in Maine and New England. Additionally they both perform with the salsa band, Grupo Mofongo, and Raul has played with popular son group Primo Cubano. Additionally Gary maintains an active performance career internationally, having just completed jazz performances in Ecuador (April, 2012) and currently scheduled to be in Krakow, Poland (July, 2012). The group's repertoire consists of traditional Cuban music that Raul learned from his grandmother, popular songs (such as material from the Buena Vista Social Club), original Latin music composed by Wittner/Freyre, as well as popular music (Beatles, Ray Charles) arranged in the Latin styles.
