DC EcoWomen Mentor Dinner with Vanessa Pierce

This dinner is an opportunity for a lucky few DC EcoWomen members to learn from, ask questions of and enjoy the company of Ms. Pierce.

Vanessa Pierce is the Eastern Regional Director for Sierra Club's Beyond Coal Campaign. In this role, Vanessa is helping to oversee the retirement of thousands of megawatts of coal, and is working to ensure its replacement with clean, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. Ms. Pierce comes to the Sierra Club after serving as the executive director of the Healthy Environment Alliance of Utah (HEAL Utah). In that role, she spearheaded the creation of a carbon-free, nuclear-free blueprint for powering the Beehive State. In addition to her energy policy work, she also developed expertise on a variety of nuclear issues, including waste, weapons, and power. Ms. Pierce is an alumna of Green Corps, the field school for environmental organizing, and holds a B.A. from Grinnell College in Iowa.
