Mainstage Theatre Company Presents: PIPPIN
ABOUT MAINSTAGE Founded in 2008 as a not-for-profit offshoot of Children's Arts Theatre School, MAINSTAGE THEATRE COMPANY is a registered charitable organization dedicated to guiding young performing artists to personal and professional success.
Our exciting program gives pre-professional artists ages 11 to 21 the opportunity to create and experience the magic and power of professional theatre. Under the direction of Artistic Director Alain Richer, MAINSTAGE is supported by a team of professional artists boasting some of Canada's theatre leaders. An enriched and intense rehearsal process culminates in an audition-based musical theatre production. Known for the skill of its actors, beautifully designed and crafted sets and costumes, and helmed by industry professionals, our productions are an audience hit, and our program has become a competitor in the theatre education industry.
Our intensive actor-training program unlocks our students' unique and creative talents, and provides the tools aspiring actors need to make the most of their potential.

ABOUT PIPPIN With an infectiously unforgettable score from the four-time Grammy-winner, three-time Oscar-winner, and musical theatre giant Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Children Of Eden), PIPPIN has been successfully produced on many stages. Sweeping the New York Awards circuit (TONY, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle) in 2013, PIPPIN continues to captivate and appeal to the young at heart throughout the world.
Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of love and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the un-extraordinary moments that happen every day.
Equally poignant for it's simplicity as for it's spectacle-driven elements, Pippin's message is universal and will connect with audiences across the age spectrum.
