2nd Sunday Chamber Music Series: Quintessence
Get Cozy with the PSO!
Celebrate Valentine's Day listening to the five women of Quintessence play music composed by women - Amy Beach, Claude Arrieu, Valerie Coleman, our own Maria Sheppard, as well as a short piece called Silver by 17 year old Jamie Hammer. Vocalist Lillian Buckley will join us for a beautiful performance of "Lift Every Voice". Quintessence was formed at the turn of the 21st century by five principal wind players in a New Hampshire Orchestra. The ensemble of five women has performed in concert series at Strawbery Banke Museum, the New Hampshire Children's Museum, the Kittery Art Association, The Dance Hall in Kittery, American Independence Museum, Hamilton House Gardens, Langdon House, and Riverwoods, weddings from Squam Lake to Newcastle Commons to Castle in the Clouds; churches throughout Maine and New Hampshire; and festivities and celebrations of all kinds.
