Pacific Voices Winter Concert 2015 - A Gift of Song
Delight in a musical gift December 19 and 20 at Pacific Voices' winter concert! Under the direction of conductor Dr.Sean Boulware, this acclaimed 70-voice choir will present an exciting program of seasonal choral music ranging from contemporary composers to traditional carols and songs from around the world.
Celebratory, contemplative, spiritual and poetic, compositions to be performed reflect many facets of the human experience. They include the chant-like Ubi Caritas by young Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo; Wanting Memories by Ysaye M. Barnwell of Sweet Honey in the Rock; Sure On This Shining Night by renowned composer Morten Lauridsen; Vivaldi's Gloria In Excelsis; Song of Kabir, by Elizabeth Alexander; Snow Toward Evening, by Paul Fetler; Kalimando, arranged by Boulware; and carols and songs from Catalonia, Israel, Africa and the United States.
