Benefit for The Tears Foundation
Please join us, Team Baby Eddy aka: "Monster Bug's Team" at Grit City Comedy for a night of laughs, prizes, raffles and fun!!! We are raising funds for The Tears Foundation Rock and Walk, held on June 16th, 2012 at Cheney Stadium with the proceeds going to The Tears Foundation!
You may be asking yourself... Who or What is The Tears Foundation? Not many people know about TheTears Foundation because of what they do. They are a non-profit organization who "Compassionately helps bereaved families honor the life of a child." Sadly, yes... They help families who have lost their baby. www.thetearsfoundation.org
Our family became familiar with them on June 18th, 2011. Our sweet, happy, always smiling little Baby Eddy Maurice Smith III passed away suddenly at barely 3 months of age. From the beginning of his life to the very last minute, the impact he made on so many lives was huge! Due to the donation of his heart valves he was able to save another babies life. Something we know he would have wanted to do!
There is no preparing for the loss of a child. The pain and the devastation are beyond words. Not only do you feel lost and alone, you blame and question yourself for everything. As the aunt, I was trying to hold it all together, taking care of what needed to be done and hopefully, relieving some of the devastating burden that had been placed on these parents. I thought I had it all together, until one day I found myself feeling a little overwhelmed. My husband and I were doing our best to cover the costs but the amounts just kept climbing higher and higher! Not really expecting anything, I sat down and dialed the number given to us a few days earlier. The voice on the other end of the line answered and it was the sweetest, most compassionate voice I had ever heard! She sweetly said, "You are not alone. We are here to help." Having lost a baby herself, she really DID know what we were going through! From there she asked several questions regarding our financial and emotional needs and reassured me they were there to help. Not only did they help with many of our financial needs the emotional support was unmeasurable.
It takes people like you and me to keep a wonderful organization like The Tears Foundation operating. I guarantee you will be entertained by some of the best comedians in the Pacific Northwest! Your $15 ticket also gives you a chance to win great door prizes and we have several raffles for 1 of a kind art work by two local Tacoma artists that you won't want to miss out on!
Come a little early and eat from the great menu full of delicious and very affordable food!
See you at the show!!!
