-------------------------------- about CITY LIGHTS: "Hey there fans and family, friends and foes, whoever is reading this!
Chase here, I play bass. I hate bios that are super professional so I'm typing this how I would tell anyone about how we came to be. The band formed in early 2008 in Columbus, Ohio. (Note: I am not an original member, but I've been in it long enough to know what's gone down.) In the early days we wrote some music that we thought was good and took those songs to the studio. Our sound pulls from all the awesome music we grew up listening to. We were also sick of playing in hardcore and metal bands and wanted to do something new. Once recorded, we self released our debut EP "Rock Like A Party Star" in April of 2008. That EP has sold over 5,000 copies without the help or promotion of a label or management.
Somewhere along the way Brooks Betts' of Mayday Parade saw something in us and helped us rise from silly local band to goofy touring band. Finally the day came that Brooks stepped down as our manager and we began to work with Thomas Gutches of the Artery Foundation. He's our hometown buddy who went on to do big things out in California. Buckeyes for life, yo!
After touring off that EP for way too long, (and firing way to many agents) we decided to put out new music. Once we established what we wanted to do, I texted Nick Moore of InVogue Records and asked if he wanted to release our album. Less than a day later we were signed with InVogue to release 'In It To Win It'. On a personal note, Nick is my favorite person in the entire music industry. He's the best to work with and he really believes in City Lights. Anyways we put out 'It It To Win It' last fall and have toured non stop in support of it. We also released a badass music video for our single 'Where You've Been' on youtube. As I write this (April 4, 2012) we have a rock solid tour schedule planned for the summer up until the fall. We've got some new music videos ready to roll & new music in the works! Hopefully I'll see you all on the road this summer!"
