Featuring in no particular order:
Aaron Nathans - http://www.aaronnathans.com/
This 2011 Kerrville New Folk finalist will yodel about grapefruit, and chant about a heavy metal rocker at his Orthodox Jewish wedding. He rocks out about that girl who shouldn't be wearing Goth clothes anymore, and the curious alchemy that makes an Italian bakery turn out the very best bread on the planet.
Matthew Haley - http://www.facebook.com/MatthewHalleyMusic
Gable was made aware of Matthew's music through the FAWM showcase this year. He is a wildlife biologist, songwriter, music teacher (guitar, piano, banjo and voice), and a freelance sound engineer for large jazz and world music ensembles.
Kurt Houff - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwuTV-NecyQ
Kurt Houff is best known locally as the lead guitarist for Montana Wildaxe. However, Jeremy has been a fan of Kurt's since he began coming into the acoustic guitar room at Accent Music years ago to play some of the most amazing slide/finger picking compositions. Take a look at the video link above of Kurt playing at Burlap and Bean a few years ago.
Justin Tracy - http://www.justintracy.com/
We were told about Justin Tracy's music by Rory Sullivan. Upon listening to his album "Bangladesh Motor" and the Independent Music Award nominated track "Such a Good Thing" we became serious fans. "Such a Good Thing has been played on loop for a couple of weeks now by Jeremy. We are so excited to introduce Justin to the Wilmington music scene. Justin is a New York City based artist who grew up in North London.
George Murphy - http://soundcloud.com/delvintage/
George Murphy is a true Delaware Renaissance man. As one of the co-owners of Planet Ten Multimedia, he has proved his skills as a visual artist creating iconic posters and branding for the local arts community. He is also a talented multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, performing in several area bands. With shades of alternative, folk and 50s-and-60s rock and roll, his style is a pastiche of pop goodness. Give a listen to his music at the link above. We are very excited to have him be a part of this month's showcase.
Jason Ager - http://www.jasonager.com/
Jason Ager is a blues-rock artist with hip-hop and R&B influences. Jason's self-taught guitar style is distinguished by stylized palm muting and percussive striking. He has been playing original music since picking up the guitar, and has grown a loyal following in his hometown Philadelphia music scene. With moves to Washington, D.C. and now Baltimore, Jason is a staple in clubs from New York to Virginia.
