DOUBLE FEATURE Return to Goree + US premiere screening of filmed Concert on Goree Island
Africa's slave legacy is explored by internationally acclaimed Senegalese Mbalax singer Youssou N'Dour and world renowned jazz pianist Moncef Genoud in Return To Goree. Youssou N'Dour sets out to explore through music the journey Africans made as slaves from Goree Island to the Americas and their influence on the cultures they became part of. The screening of Return to Goree will be followed by the US Premiere screening of the concert given in Goree by Youssou N'Dour and the internationally renowned musicians featured in Return to Goree, including the legendary New Orleans jazz drummer Idris Muhammad and ace guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel.
