Take a Hike!

Northern California Regional Land Trust is promoting American Hiking Society's National Trails Day on Saturday, June 2, 2012, with a hike and trail run in Upper Bidwell Park. This annual Take a Hike! event will be a great opportunity to get the community involved in the care of our local parks, support local organizations, and will promote healthy lifestyles.

Your participation will directly support the Northern California Regional Land Trust which has successfully conserved over 15,191 acres in the tri-county region by partnering with local landowners who want to keep their land as open space and productive agriculture land. All the proceeds from this event will help us keep this very special place we call home beautiful, rich and viable for generations to come.

EVENT OUTLINE
RUN: 10k trail run on a challenging single track route.
HIKE: Each hiker will be provided with a Hike Passport to be stamped at activity stations along the trails to learn about the park environment and nature and help ensure safety.
oHikers can hike on their own or with a group guide
oThere are two route choices:
2.5 miles (or less) adventure trail (easy)
3.5 miles exploration trail (moderate)
PARTY: music, food, expo booths, and activities for the whole family
