A one-woman-show show about identity, superheroes, and the virtues of self-centeredness.
Self-ish is about Superhero X, a superhero who is born without an identity and goes to Earth in search of one. The show uses a mix of improvisation, audience participation and off-stage interviews to influence an ever-changing script with tones both savvy and innocent. Gray embodies a quirky cast of characters, including a Texan firmware engineer, a misogynistic feminist and Diva Death Herself to explore identity, "self-centeredness" and how we come to know who we are.
(This is more than a sneak-peak, insider's-scoop, watch-the-creative-process-unfold, work-in-progress kind of thing. This is an opportunity to watch an identity unravel.)
