James Barrie's Quartets
Three rarely performed short plays by James Barrie, author of Peter Pan. In Rosalind, an aging actress is planning to give up the role that has made her famous, Rosalind in Shakespeare's As You Like It. A chance meeting with an avid fan makes her reconsider her decision. In The Twelve-Pound Look, a freelance secretary is hired to prepare some important papers for an unpleasant man whom she has sworn to avoid. The New Word puts an English father and son in the awkward position of having to communicate their feelings for one another. Each play is performed by the same four actors.
