"Songs of My Dreams", A Concert by Mary Lynn Preiss - presented by LocalEyes
Surprising theatergoers from The Sea Ranch to Manchester with her performance as Marion in the recent Art Center Theater production of The Music Man, Mary Lynn Preiss will present her lyrical voice in a concert of her favorite songs on June 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Gualala Arts Center.

The set will include Puccini arias, Broadway hits and love songs. Mary Lynn will perform in a cabaret-style atmosphere with beer, wine, martini bar and food available.

Preiss studied flute before changing her major to voice at the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, where she was born and raised. She has a background in gospel choir as both director and soloist, performing numerous times at the Mark Hellinger Theater on Broadway in the early 1990s.

She has been a member of numerous theater groups including the Phoenix Symphony Choir and the Southwest Shakespeare Company, participating in productions of Oliver, Pippin and The Pirates of Penzance.

Mary Lynn is a newcomer to our Mendonoma coast and has enjoyed getting to know many local artists, performers, Gualala Arts volunteers and their families through her participation in the recently sold-out run of The Music Man.

Joining Mary Lynn on stage will be piano accompanist Renata Yardumian. Renata was born and raised in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, and had her first instruction in music from her father Richard Yardumian. She studied piano privately with Eleanor Sokolof, and theory and composition with the composer and fine artist, Timothy Greatbatch. Renata majored in music at Temple University in Philadelphia and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Sonoma State University.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $5 more on the day of the performance. Youth 17 years of age and under are free. Tickets may also be purchased in person at Gualala Arts and Dolphin Gallery.
