Fundraiser for Preston Bradley Center
Renee Baker, composer, conductor, violinist and her Chicago Modern Orchestra Project will headline a fundraiser for the Preston Bradley Center, 941 W. Lawrence, Chicago on Thursday, May 17th at 8pm.
Renee Baker has been at the forefront of creative/avant garde music since 1991. Utilizing some of the finest musicians that cross the classical world as well as jazz greats, she has created a group of the best traditional musicians as well as musical improvisers. The mission of the orchestra is to excite and encourage new audiences with their own brand of "out of the box" programming.
The concert will be in the Preston Bradley auditorium and free parking will be available at Uplift High School on the North side of the W. Eastwood cul de sac (entered from Sheridan Road). There is another lot which is entered directly from Wilson on the North side, west of Sheridan. After 10:30pm, tow trucks will be operating in the lots. In addition there will be unlimited discount parking ($5) in the Weiss Hospital parking structure on Clarendon, 2 blocks south of Lawrence.
The concert is a fundraiser for renovating the Preston Bradley Auditorium to include ADA lifts and restroom facilities on its main floor.
