Mount Lowe: Then & Now- Highlighting David Macpherson
The Mount Lowe Railway ran from 1893 through 1936 and served several million passengers. We begin our 2012 season with a presentation by Michael Patris and Steve Crise, co-authors of Mount Lowe: Then & Now, who will compare historic images from the Mount Lowe Preservation Society archives to contemporary photographs of what remains today. They will tale a special look at the life of railway engineer and creative genius of the project David Joseph Macpherson, and his relationship with financier Thaddeus Lowe. Appropriately at the 1906 home of David Macpherson.
Pasadena Museum of History's popular At Home series combines presentations by outstanding speakers with visits to architecturally unique homes. Enjoy one or more evenings of history, culture, food, and fun with fellow PMH members. All 2012 programs take place outdoors. In case of rain, please consider your reservation a donation.
Reservations are limited to PMH members only. If you are interested in becoming a member, please call 626.577.1660 or email membership@pasadenahistory.org.
