From the Pen to the Page: This is My Redemption
"Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our mind." - Bob Marley
The students of Making Waves' creative arts program RAW Talent presents a groundbreaking Hip Hop Theater performance exploring prisons - both physical and mental - and liberation. Merging theater, spoken word, music, and dance in a seamless fusion of beautiful words, ugly truths and community healing - we will laugh, we will cry, and together we will move towards a more just future for our world.
The event is being held at the beautiful East Bay Center for the Performing Arts, just three blocks west of Richmond Bart. The last two shows have rocked the house and sold out, so buy your tickets early!
Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for youth (18 and under). All proceeds go to the RAW Talent Creative Arts Program, as part of the Making Waves Educational Program in Richmond, to provide students with a creative outlet through workshops, field trips, materials, etc. Please support the arts and the youth by joining us!
