Whittier Hills Wild Harvest
Food and medicine grow wild in the Whittier Hills. Learn how to identify and harvest edible and medicinal wild plants in this workshop led by wilderness survival educator Jim Robertson.
Whittier Hills Wild Harvest Workshop Hellman Park, Whittier Saturday, May 26 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. $30 ($25 early bird price ends May 20)
Robertson leads a fun and educational nature walk through the Whittier Hills. Learn about wild edibles, local native plant identification, plant communication, medicinal uses, wild soap making, cordage, container-making, aboriginal fire making, and wild harvesting approached with consciousness and integrity.
Robertson brought the class to Whittier in September 2011 for a review of local plants in their fall state. This workshop revisits the same plants in their spring state.
Join the group for a beautiful walk through the Whittier Hills with fellow nature-lovers. The workshop is part of a monthly skill-building series from the Whittier Time Bank and Whittier Backyard Farms.
