School is Out, STEM is IN!

STEMaction is offering SuGO Robotics Workshops on select afternoons when schools are not in session: Monday, November 2.

What is SuGO? It combines the fun of LEGO Mindstorm NXT robots with Sumo wrestling. In this workshop youth work in teams to build SuGO Battle Bots using supplied LEGO Mindstorms NXT kits with special SuGO add-ons. After the bots are built it will be time to hit the competition ring for a thrilling and fun tournament. For more details on SuGO see www.sugobot.com

No programming is necessary but LEGO Mindstorms NXT building experience is a plus. For those new to Mindstorms we can provide step by step building instructions.

Ages: 9 to 14 years old
Schedule:
12:30 Check in
12:45 - 1:45: Building Bots
1:45 - 2:00: Snack break - Please bring a drink and a snack
2:00 - 3:00: Finish building bots
3:00 - 3:45: Tournament - Parents are welcome to attend and cheer the teams on!
3:45 - 4:00: Clean up and goodbye

Gearbox 4H Club is a Montgomery County 4H club devoted to all things robotic, both hardware and software. This is our 3rd year as a club, and we participate in FIRST Tech Challenge competitions each year.

Note: Adults running STEMaction workshops are screened through the FIRST Youth Protection Program.
