Heimbach House Tour
Join us for this rare opportunity explore the Heimbach home, one of architect Bertrand Goldberg's early and few residential works of the 1930s. This private home, located in Blue Island, was built in 1939 for Dr. Aaron Heimbach, a prominent local physician who practiced medicine from offices located in the southwest corner of the home. Of the few houses Goldberg designed in the 1930s, this home is only one of six confirmed standing. In 2009 the homeowners Tom Hawley and Tom Mantel were recognized with the prestigious Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Award from Landmarks Illinois. This event will feature a guided tour of the space by the owners, a slide presentation featuring images from the restoration, and a cocktail reception. Space is limited.
