Sex Tape Project - Three Play Pass
Sex Tape Project is an experiment in creative process that had its first workshop presentation in fu-GEN Theatre's 2010-11 season and most recently travelled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This project is a multi-writer and multi-location theatrical experiment which explores themes of power and sexuality. It uses bi-locality to experiment with traditional ideals of theatrical spectatorship and reflects on the impact of community and privacy in densely populated urban areas.
Actors perform in three rooms of the Spadina Super 8 Downtown Hotel across the street from where audiences sit in the Centre for Social Innovation. Audiences watch the show through a pair of binoculars while listening to an audio feed of the play. Three plays written by three playwrights correspond to the physical score of the actors. In essence, the audience will see the same physical action, but experience a completely different story.
