START Scholars Presentation: Admission & Discharge Summaries: A Case Study-Webhosting(Kannapolis)
Cardinal Innovations Healthcare to webhost the National Online Training Series on Mental Health and Intellectual Disability developed by the Center for START Services.
Each month a presentation can be viewed in the Kannapolis office conference center and at the Chapel Hill Office.  
Contracted providers, Stakeholders, and Cardinal employees are invited to attend.
The trainings begin at 12pm please bring your lunch and listen.  
January training will be on January 22: START Scholars Presentation: Admission & Discharge Summaries: A Case Study (2 hours)
Presenters: Lauren Charlot, Ph.D., Clinical Director
Objectives:
Describe how to organize a 24 hour interval data tracking system to facilitate more data based assessments.
Set individualized treatment goals and ways to track progress using the data system presented.
Use 24-hour data tracking combined with ABC report forms and observation to uniform hypotheses about contextual influences on symptoms and challenging behaviors.
Integrate a bio-psycho-social summary into discharge summaries.
Dr. Lauren Charlot, LICSW, PhD is a Developmental Psychologist, who has been working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and severe co-occurring psychiatric disorders and challenging behaviors, for over 25 years. Dr. Charlot is an assistant professor of psychiatry and Director of ID/MH Services at the UMass Medical School/UMass Medical Center. She has published original research, and has lectured widely on a variety of topics related to the care of individuals with IDD and ASDs (Autism Spectrum Disorders) across the United States, Canada and in Europe. Dr. Charlot currently serves as Clinical Director for the NC START East RHA program.
