Marching toy soldiers, waltzing snowflakes, mischievous mice, and Tchaikovsky's unforgettable score are quintessential hallmarks of the holidays. Celebrate the season with Marat Daukayev Ballet Theatre's presentation of The Nutcracker, a holiday ballet for the whole family. Featuring dancers of all ages, The Nutcracker tells the story of young Masha, who receives a gift of a wooden nutcracker doll at her parents' Christmas party. That night, she dreams her Nutcracker comes to life and together they battle the wicked Mouse King and journey through an enchanted forest of snow to reach the Kingdom of Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy and all her sweet subjects await them.
Getting to The Nutcracker to air on PBS and in theaters
The one hour version of the award-winning documentary feature Getting to The Nutcracker is airing nationally on most PBS stations this holiday season. Los Angeles residents can view it on: PBSSoCal 11/21 at 4:00 pm. The is the first time the critically acclaimed audience favorite will be shown on television.
