Small Acreage Tour - Columbia Gorge Horse Stable
Columbia Gorge Horse Stable was recognized as a Clark County Model property in 2006 after the landowners began turning a neglected dump site into a property of their dreams. The ranch now raises show horses in addition to rehabilitating rescue horses.
This tour will cover a wide range of land and animal management topics such as manure management, pasture rotation, cross fencing, weed management strategies, footing materials for double use areas, drainage solutions, sharing land with wildlife and much more. Come learn about how the landowners achieved recognition as a model property and how best management practices have been implemented to improve their property and protect natural resources, while saving time and money. The landowners will also discuss their experience finding resources in Clark County to assist with the creation of a management plan.
Bring your family & friends and questions you have about your property. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring a water bottle and wear sturdy boots as we'll be in the field.
This tour is put on by the Small Acreage Program which is made possible by joint sponsorship from WSU Clark County Extension and Clark County Environmental Services Clean Water Program.
WSU Extension programs are available to all without discrimination. Persons requiring special accommodations should call WSU Clark County Extension at (360) 397-6060 ext. 0 at least two weeks prior to the event.
