Caution! This spring five of New York City's award-winning and most popular burlesque luminaries have highway fever! With a squeal of tires and a cloud of glitter, the super-star team of Anita Cookie, Clams Casino, Darlinda Just Darlinda, GiGi LaFemme, and Minnie Tonka are hitting the road with the top down and their tassels twirling for the DANGEROUS CURVES AHEAD: BURLESQUE ON THE GO-GO SPRING TOUR 2012!
An unprecedented burlesque tour that's epic in scope, the ladies of Dangerous Curves Ahead, will join "The Foul-Mouthed, Buxom Godmother of LA Burlesque"(LA Times), Lili VonSchtupp, FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY, at Monday Night Tease at 3 Clubs in Los Angeles, CA on April 23, 2012 at 10pm!
Dangerous Curves Ahead: Burlesque on the Go Go! is the nation's premiere national touring burlesque troupe. Since 2010, the ladies have completed four national tours taking them to over60 cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Anchorage, Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, Pittsburgh,and Atlanta. Dangerous Curves Ahead packed houses across the country and received oodles of critical acclaim: The Nashville Scene said "It's a veritable aureole speedwagon as the OuterBoroughs' most buxom babes go from zero to 38D on their road trip across America!" and the Phoenix New Times called the show, "An excellent night of twirling tassels and bawdy jokes."
About The Dangerous Curves:
ANITA COOKIE, originally hailing from the tan line-free shores of the Pacific, took the stages of New York by storm and can be seen every night knocking audiences out of their chairs around the city, and across the continent from Key West to Toronto. A Golden Pastie Award winner at the New York Burlesque Festival, Anita is also one-third of the quirky music trio Gigi & Pop, winners of the first-ever "Best Variety Act" trophy at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Pageant 2009 in Las Vegas. As a producer, she's created boozier, more naked versions of classic game shows and talk shows, and with her partner, Calms Casino in The Sticky Situation, she produces an ongoing series of sold-out shows at the famous Joe's Pub.
CLAMS CASINO: Called "a burlesque queen" by the New York Times, "spectacular" on the New York Post's Page Six and an "NYC Culture maker" by Time Out New York, Clams Casino is a nationally recognized producer and one of New York's favorite stars of the bump 'n' grind. She has brought her unique mix of sexy hilarity and curvaceous glam to a wide variety of stages across New York City, and to Las Vegas, Boston, Washington DC, Key West, Atlanta, Toronto and many more cities around the country! In summer 2008 Clams was the winner of two coveted trophies, for "Most Innovative" and "Most Comedic" at the Miss Exotic World Pageant,sponsored by the Burlesque Hall of Fame. She is also a Golden Pastie Award winner at the New York Burlesque Festival.
DARLINDA JUST DARLINDA, "Mastermind of Bizarre Extravaganza," has been working as a Burlesque Performer and Producer locally (NYC) and internationally since 2003. Darlinda is one half of the Burlesque duo The Schlep Sisters! Darlinda is also a proud co-producer of Bushwick Burlesque. She also performs Off Broadway and on television; Darlinda participated in Taylor Mac's The Lily's Revenge (Obie) and in HBO's Boardwalk Empire. Darlinda is a current faculty member at the New York School of Burlesque. One of The Sundance Channels "Top 10 Badass Burlesque Babes!" She is the recipient of the 2009 Golden Pastie Award for The Most Innovative and Creative and was voted in the Top 50 International Burlesque Industry Figures of2011! USA Today says "It's hard to top Darlinda."
Since 2005, GIGI LA FEMME has been named one of New York City's sultriest striptease stars and is the producer of the critically acclaimed Revealed Burlesque at the Under St. Mark's Theater. A Golden Pastie Award winner for Best Booty Shaker 2009, Perfect Posterior 2011 and Miss Coney Island 2010, the multi-talented bump 'n' grinder, go-go girl, chanteuse and pin-up model has traveled the nation with the ladies of Dangerous Curves Ahead: Burlesque on the Go-Go performing her super hot signature acts in addition to teaming up with her favorite songstress and Bosom Buddy: Anita Cookie!
MINNIE TONKA, the One Woman Riot, hails from the Land of 10,000 Lakes - that's Minnesota- but is currently based in New York City. In 2004, she co-founded Kosher ChiXXX Jewish Burlesque Revue, she produces the annual Menorah Horah burlesque Hanukkah show, and more. Minnie also performs and produces as one half of The Schlep Sisters. Her lusty hilarity has graced the stages of the New York Burlesque Festival, The Burlesque Hall of Fame, the Toronto Burlesque Festival, the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival, the Midwest Burlesk Festival, Key West Burlesque Holiday Extravaganza, Show Me Burlesque Festival, and the Dallas Burlesque Festival. Ms. Tonka is multiple-time New York Burlesque Festival Golden Pastie Award Winner and was voted #34 in the Top International Burlesque Industry Figures of 2011!
