Open to all levels - beginners too! This exciting 90 minute Ukulele workshop is the perfect introduction to the foundations of playing your ukulele fingerstyle. Master Ukulele teacher Stuart Fuchs will provide you with an in-depth lesson for your right hand fingerstyle technique. You'll learn a whole slew of great patterns for accompanying blues & country songs, classical & folk patterns, bossa nova & latin styles plus great practice techniques.
Whether you are just getting started or have years of experience with finger style playing, this is a workshop you'll want to attend. Stuart is a renowned and sought after teaching artist who performs and offer his innovative workshops at ukulele & music festivals internationally.
Together we'll explore accompaniment patterns for blues and jug band styles, bossa nova, classical and flamenco techniques. Learn how to develop an effortless technique of finger style ukulele and a smooth tone. We'll also go deep into the building blocks of finger coordination, how to create different tones colors, and the all important topic of how to practice for the most results with the least amount of effort.
Stuart has studied classical, flamenco, and gypsy jazz guitar for over 25 years and is looking forward to sharing his experience with you! Ultimately, you'll leave with a rock solid understanding of the nuts and bolts of great fingerstyle playing on the Ukulele.
Following the workshop, Stuart will perform an intimate solo concert set at Rhythm Inlet.
(If you play with your fingernails, it is recommended that you bring a set of nail files course, fine and 1500 grit sandpaper so Stu can share his tips on shaping & caring for the nails.)
