New Millennium Chamber Orchestra: "Gloria!" World Premiere of Nancy Deussen's new "Gloria" for chorus and orchestra
Join the New Millennium Chamber Orchestra, led by Music Director James Richard Frieman, for the world premiere of "Gloria", a new work by renowned Peninsula composer Nancy Bloomer Deussen. The orchestra version was scored expressly for New Millennium Chamber orchestra, and features the Masterworks Serenade chamber choir directed by Dr. Bryan Baker, with soprano Cheryl Blalock and tenor Ryan Matos.
In addition to this exciting premiere, the orchestra will present Beethoven's Symphony No. 8 in F (the "Little F Major" symphony), one of the composer's liveliest and most engaging symphonic works. Also on the program is Aaron Copland's atmospheric "Quiet City" for English horn, trumpet and strings, with NMCO's own Donald Pender and Steve Kurasch as soloists. Dr. Baker will open the program with Masterworks Serenade singing several short works for chorus
