Volti -- San Francisco's award-winning, leading-edge new music vocal ensemble -- continues its 37th Season, "The Next Page," focusing on an exploration of the work of dynamic young composers.
"The Next Page" continues with "Paging Through," featuring the music of Tonia Ko, winner of this year's Choral Arts Laboratory workshop program for young composers. Volti will sing her world premiere, "From Ivory Depths," based on writings by Virginia Woolf. The program also features Kui Dong's "Painted Lights," in which Volti will be joined by the precocious young singers of Ensemble from the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir. As has become Volti's tradition, the concert will be followed by an opportunity for the audience and artists to connect -- one of our well-loved "Inter-ceptions!"
Other repertoire: John Muehleisen's playful settings of Gertrude Stein poetry, "... is knowing..." Paolo Longo's "Quare fremuerunt gentes" Eric Banks's "The paths of peace"
Conductor: Robert Geary
