The Larry Stefl Group

Larry Stefl, a founding member of the Berkeley Jazz Guitar Ensemble, plays guitar and contributes the vocals. He has studied jazz guitar with Down Beat Award Winner Mimi Fox and master Brazilian guitarist Ricardo Peixoto. Larry has also produced a well received Brazilian/worldbeat CD "Bahia Chant". Jim Broadstreet on trumpet and flugelhorn brings a wide emotional range from delicate to fiery to the mix. Jim Davidson on piano is a product of the Berkeley High School Jazz Program who studied at the New England Conservatory with Jaki Bayard in the 70's. Fred Randolph on stand up bass is a first call player in the Bay Area, as well as an accomplished composer and educator. Dan Folz on drums, first call player for Brazilian rhythms and educator is also featured. Ray Little on percussion, a recent Berkeley High School Jazz Program graduate rounds out the group. www.larrystefl.com
