UCSD immunologist PhD candidate Leilani Cruz will share her research on how miRNAs, short non-coding sequences, can target regulatory T cells in preventing autoimmune diseases. She will break down the immune system in an easy to understand, interactive discussion, then move into the practical implications of her specific research. Includes a discussion of Next Generation Science Standards connections and classroom activity ideas.
