Great River Chorale celebrates Minnesota's choral tradition with holiday music by Minnesota composers Matthew Culloton, Carol Barnett, Abbie Betinis, Timothy Takach, and many more. Sing along on audience carols, enjoy narrations from the writings of Minnesota poets, and hear the premieres of two new carols composed in honor of Great River Chorale's fifteenth anniversary.
Special guests include the Concert Choir from the SCSU Preparatory Program Cantabile Girls' Choir program, Br. Paul-Vincent Niebauer, OSB, narrator, and Charles Echols, organist. Performances are Friday, December 4, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 4 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4310 County Road 137, St. Cloud, MN 56301.
Love music and poetry? Join Great River Chorale conductor Mary Kay Geston on Sunday, December 6 at 3 pm for a pre-concert conversation with composer Laura Caviani and poet David Bengtson who will talk about the creative meshing of music and poetry in choral music.
