Nina Haft & Company presents KING TIDE
KING TIDE is a dance performance by Nina Haft & Company about water, balance and extremes. Our bodies are water, subject to the same fragility and resilience as our watersheds. How might our movement reveal clues to our survival?
KING TIDE is a collaboration between choreographer Nina Haft and a team of exceptional artists:
--Dancers: Sarah Chenoweth, Rebecca Johnson, Peiling Kao, Edmer Lazaro, Rogelio Lopez and Frances Sedayao
--Soundscapes composed by Gretchen Jude
--Music improvised by Eat The Sun (Jason Hoopes, Gretchen Jude & Noah Phillips)
These performances build upon a year of showings and work-in-progress performances of excerpts from the hour-long full work, and are shared in an intimate studio setting for audiences to feel as well as see the work.
Ellen Webb Studio is a gallery-like setting, where audiences will have an up-close and intimate experience of the work. This year's performances will greatly inform our San Francisco premiere next year.
There will be a pre-show video from our site-specific production about water. Stay after the show to share your feedback and to find out more about our three different King Tide Projects for 2016. Please note that no late seating will be allowed after 8pm.
