Joe Gallant and the Transit with Joel Thetford
Joe Gallant and the Transit is a 4 piece alt-country act based out of Portland, ME featuring "searing guitars" (Portland Phoenix) "gruff-but-melodic vocals" (Culture Shock) and a monster rhythm section. A style that has drawn comparison to Eric Church and Ryan Adams, JG&T take elements of country, blues and rock with a north woods twist to create a live show with something for everyone.

Raised in the shadow of Billy Bob's, one of Texas's legendary honky tonks, Joel Thetford grew up listening to the sounds of classic country radio and the wide variety of rock and roll, blues, and folk music that the Texas scene provided. His career as a bull-rider landed him eventually in Stephenville, where the Texas Country scene was booming. With acts like Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Pat Green and Robert Earl Keen making regular stops in town, those were Joel's earliest and strongest influences as he began writing songs.
Since relocating to Portland, Maine, Joel has become a fixture in the Maine songwriting community, and has shared the stage with such acts as The Mallett Brothers Band, North of Nashville, Jake Hill & Deep Creek, Joe Gallant & the Transit, Diesel Doug and the Long Haul Truckers, and many more. Joel's debut EP, Here I Go, was released in the summer of 2015. The album was co-produced by Will Mallett of The Mallett Brothers Band, who Joel originally met at a Steve Earle concert in Portland, and who would eventually talk Joel into getting into the studio and making a record. It was recorded at Wallyworld in Portland by Wally, mixed by Jonathan Wyman at The Halo, and mastered by Dave Collins in Los Angeles. All tickets sales are final. No refunds will be given.
