Trio Arkel Presents "String Tapestry"!
Join us in our first concert at our new home, Jeanne Lamon Hall in Trinity St.Paul's Centre! This centrally-located concert hall, recently renewed and re-furbished, is a centre for classical music in Toronto because of its wonderful acoustic. In the deep of winter, we present a program of warm string playing, with world-renowned guest artists and an eclectic program. There will be a string trio by Sofia Gubaidulina, a modern spiritualist from the Soviet Union; the Serenade for Two Violins and Viola by Kodaly, and Beethoven's Quintet for Strings, Op. 29 "The Storm"- hopefully not imitated by nature!:)
Internationally renowned violinist Scott St. John joins us along with Sharon Wei, Professor of Viola at the University of Western Ontario and member of the Made in Canada Ensemble.
Each concert presented by Trio Arkel begins with a 20-minute informational talk at 6:30 P.M., given by founding member Marie Berard.
