AUP Presents: An Evening of Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan released his first album fifty years ago in March of 1962. In those 50 years he's assembled a body of work that is unimpeachable and created the soundtrack to thousands, perhaps even millions of people's lives. Local Indianapolis musicians Sam Fain and Michael & Frank Shelton will pay tribute to one of the greatest songwriters of all time with an evening of Bob Dylan music May 10, 11, and 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hidden Door Theater, 12 1/2 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana. (Located directly above Hometown Classic Pizza.)
Michael Shelton is the Founder/Artistic Director of Heartland Actor's Repertory Theater (HART) and was involved in AUP's Night of the Living Dead - Part I. Michael is a regular on the Indianapolis stage and has been seen in various productions at the Indianapolis Repertory Theatre (IRT), the Phoenix Theatre and HART. Frank is Michael's musically prolific 14-year old son, who is also involved in Indianapolis area theatre and plays piano in his rock band ZMC. AUP fans will recognize Sam Fain as Ben in Night of the Living Dead - Part I, Michael in Two Rooms and most recently as Joey in A Steady Rain; as well as roles on stage at the IRT, Indianapolis Civic Theatre, Theatre Non Nobis, and HART where he is also a company member.
Patrons of AUP's inaugural cabaret will be treated to a night of Bob Dylan songs ranging from "Blowin' in the Wind" to "Tangled Up in Blue" to the more recent Academy Award-winning "Things Have Changed." Michael, Sam and Frank will utilize various instrumentation such as piano, vocals, ukelele, mandolin, djembe (drum) and acoustic and electric guitars to pay tribute to this world-changing songwriter.
Tickets are $12 reserved and $15 at the door. You may reserve tickets by calling the Box Office at 317-207-0171 or online here.
