AUSFORM MICRO-FEST: BÉTON BRUTE BY RACHAEL CLERKE
AUSFORM MICRO-FEST 2015 - a 4 day burst of progressive performance, live music, parties and discussions. A palette of colour, noise and mess, of sideways thinkers and ultra egos each with their own approach to transformation. Make yourself up and join us for a micro-morphosis...
Ausform present:
BETON BRUTE BY RACHAEL CLERKE
Somewhere in a great European megacity, somewhere on the cusp of a new era, a middle-aged architect hosts the last ever episode of life-as-we-know-it. And let's face it: when it comes down to it, it's just portland cement, water, aggregate, air and the proletariat VS The Man.
A satirical drag eulogy for a world past its use-by-date.
Hosted by washed up default man/proto-god figure Archibald Tactful, and accompanied by anti-virtuoso drag king punk house band The Great White Males - Béton Brute is a gratuitously sleazy and joyfully noisy critique of alpha-masculinity and the built environment.
'Eric Pickles meets Pussy Riot. Phenomenal polemic against penis-propelled planning.'- Audience member.
Rachael Clerke is a young woman artist based in Bristol who likes dressing up as wealthy older men. Her last show How to achieve redemption as a Scot through the medium of Braveheart featured Alex Salmond, Mel Gibson and Donald Trump and won the Ideastap Underbelly Award in 2014.
