An Introductory Musical Improv Workshop for Beginning Improvisers

Pre-requisite: This workshop is great for one and all! A terrific way to get your first (or second or third) taste of musical improvisation.
We sing because our emotions are too powerful for spoken words. In this safe, supportive and trust-filled workshop, you'll learn the basics of musical improvisation. Discover the fun in making up songs on the spot, explore your characters more fully and see how moving to the melodies of the piano can tell you everything you need to know.
Never sung in an improv scene before? It doesn't matter. Don't have a good voice? It doesn't matter. Don't rhyme well? It doesn't matter. Come just how fun and accessible musical improv really is.
About Your Teachers:
Mac Gostow has performed his musical improvisation in cities across the country including Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Nashville, Philadelphia and Chicago. Mac was a veteran member of the Sweaty Toothed Madmen (Gordon College) when they won the College Comedy Festival at ImprovBoston with in 2013 and has been a Boston comedy stalwart ever since. Mac has been in several ImprovBoston resident casts including the Family Show, All Access Improv and has performedr with indy teams Tallprov and juice. He is currently a cast member of Boston's Unscripted Musical Project (B.U.M.P.), Dirty Disney and Kerplunk. He leads a weekly Comedy Club at Ivy Street School and has led improv workshops since 2007. Mac and Nate Shaffer perform together as Foiled: The Improvised 2 Man Musical, which has taken the stage at ImprovBoston, NYC's The PIT and now The Happier Valley!
Nate Shaffer has been a Music Director with ImprovBoston since 2014, playing with resident casts Family Show, Mainstage, Face Off and ImprovBoston's National Touring Company.
